Old Cemetery:
This Cemetery is located about 100 miles south of Damascus. It belongs to Druze religious community living mostly in Syria and other Middle Eastern countries. More than 500,000 Druze live in Syria and their prophet is Solomon (Solieman). They do not bury dead and just leave them in encapsulated monument. Each Grave house have room for a whole family and they would be left with other dead. There are stories that when these Grave housing being opened, there where dead bodies sitting or leaning against the wall. Druze do not ever visit their dead after they were placed in these Grave houses. |
