On
March 19th 2003, United States and Coalition forces including Britain
started their war campaign against Iraq. American President
George Bush ordered the bombing after his 48 hour ultimatum to Iraqi President
Saddam Hussein and his sons to give up the power and leave the
country. Since August 2002, US believed that Iraqi were still hiding
their weapons of mass destruction. United Nation diplomatic resolution
could not help to avoid the war. The war last 3 weeks. On April
9th, US president declared the end of coalition war against Saddam
regime. Since May 1, 2003, President Bush declared that major combat operations in
Iraq have ended, but the fight against Iraq invasion still continues...

March 22: Terry Lloyd, 50, correspondent for
Independent Television News, Britain, killed by gunfire in southern Iraq.
March 22: Paul Moran, 39, freelance cameraman for the Australian
Broadcasting Corporation, killed by a car bomb innorthern Iraq.
March 22: Two Independent Television News journalists, cameraman Fred
Nerac of France and translator Hussein Osman of Lebanon, have been
missing in southern Iraq.
March 30: Gaby Rado, a correspondent for Channel 4 News, Britain,
died after apparently falling from a hotel roof in northern Iraq.
April 2: Kaveh Golestan, 52, Iranian freelance cameraman for the BBC,
killed by a land mine in northern Iraq.
April 3: Michael Kelly, 46, editor-at-large, The Atlantic Monthly, killed
in a vehicle accident along with a U.S. soldier into a canal near
Baghdad.
April 6: Reporter David Bloom of NBC News died from an apparent blood
clot while covering the war south of Baghdad.
April 6: Kamaran Abdurazaq Muhamed, a Kurdish translator working with
the BBC in northern Iraq.
April 7: Christian Liebig, 35, journalist for Focus weekly, Germany,
missile struck, south of Baghdad.
April 7: Julio Anguita Parrado, 32, reporter for El Mundo,
Spain, missile struck, south of Baghdad.
April 8: Tariq Ayyoub, 35, Jordanian journalist for Al-Jazeera, Qatar, at
the Al-Jazeera office in Baghdad by air raid.
April 8: Jose Couso, cameraman for Spanish television network
Telecinco killed by US tank attack at the Palestine hotel in Baghdad.
April 8: Taras Protsyuk, a Ukrainian television cameraman for Reuters
at the Palestine hotel in Baghdad.
April 15: Veronica Cabrera, 28, an Argentine freelance camerawoman, died
of injuries from a car crash outside the Iraqi capital, which instantly
killed Mario Podesta, 52, an Argentine TV reporter, on April 14.
May 8: Elizabeth Neuffer, a reporter for The Boston Globe, died after
the car in which she was a passenger apparently struck a guardrail near the
town of Samarra, about halfway between Baghdad and Tikrit. Her translator, Waleed Khalifa Hassan Al-Dulami, also died in the accident.
July 5: Richard Wild, British freelance cameraman were shot outside
Iraq's Natural History Museum in Baghdad.
August 17: Reuters cameraman, Mazen Dana shot by a US
soldier near a prison in Baghdad.
November 12: Italian assistant director, Stefano Rolla
died in Italian Headquarter attack in Naseriyeh.
December 11, 2003: Grenade attack to a military humvee in the
middle of Baghdad injured 2 Times American journalists, James Nachtwey
and Micheal Weisskopf, and two US soldiers. One
of the journalist grab the grenade inside the humvee and threw it away
before it exploded.
March 8 2004: Iraqi mother & her daughter were shot to
death in Baghdad, working for Voice of America
March 18, 2004: Gunmen attacked a bus carrying Diyala TV crews in
Baquba, killing 3, injuring 10
March 26, 2004: US soldiers shooting at Al-Arabia TV cameraman,
Ali Abdel-Aziz, and his crew, Ali Al-Khatib, while filming rocket attack
to Al-Hayat neighborhood in Baghdad.
March 26, 2004: RPG & mortar battle in Fallujah killed Burhan
Mazhur, ABC freelance cameraman and others.
April 19, 2004: US fired at Al Iraqiya TV crew in Samarra. Journalist
Assad Kadhem and his driver Hussein Saleh were killed. Cameraman Jaassem
Kamel, were injured during attack.
