World Trade Center 1970 - Sept. 11, 2001 Tower 1 (North Tower)

On 8:46AM, ET the AA flight 11 crashed into floors between 93 and 100.  Hour later on 10:28AM, ET, the 110 story north tower collapsed down to its foundation, burying thousands of people alive under 200,000tons of steel, 425000 cubic yard of concrete, and 14 acres of glass window.  2654 people including New York & New Jersey firefighters, emergency crews, Port Authorities, & Policemen lost their lives on September 11, 2001.  Most of them were employees of various companies working at World Trade Center.   In the first 48 hours of rescue effort, just only 5 survivors were found through the wreckage of Ground Zero.  More than 40,000 people working at the World Trade Center at the time of the attack were evacuated safely, including 18 who escaped from above the impact zone in the second tower. 6291 people, including rescue and recovery workers, were treated for injuries.  The number of missing people had been estimated 6000 after the attack, but started to decline when reports shown less casualties. 1058 bodies had been identified and 90 remains could not be identified.
